Texas Hill Country Flooding
Response Completed
July 2026Uvalde & Kerrville, Texas

Texas Hill Country Flooding

Severe flooding swept through the Texas Hill Country, inundating homes, barns, and ranch properties across Uvalde and Kerrville — including Corrival Ranch, a 57-acre full-service equestrian center in Kendall County near Sisterdale, where 80 horses were stranded by rising flood waters.

Rancher Navy supported Search and Rescue efforts — SAR for animals and people — as directed by their SAR swift water partners. At Corrival Ranch in Boerne, volunteers rescued 80 stranded horses — 30 pulled from flooded stalls and 50 more from another area of the property — reaching scared animals trapped in an unsafe location and moving them to higher ground. As the water receded, additional help arrived to load and trailer the animals to a safe evacuation point and gather donations for their care. This is what Rancher Navy stands for: volunteers risking their own safety, using their own trailers, and paying for their own gas and supplies to show up. Special thanks to E.J. Dennis, Jake Stovall, Ali OMalley, Sofie Patton, Ashley Elizabeth, Josiah McDermott, the Sisterdale Volunteer Fire Department, and many more. Photos: Morgan Broome.
